Architectural Fee Guide
DG Designs understands you may want a guide as to the architects fees you would likely to be charged. However, as you will appreciate every project has a different brief and different levels of complexity dependant on constraints etc & needs to be priced following an initial consultation meeting. Therefore, refer to this ‘Checkatrade’ article published November 2022 for a ‘ball park’ figure of what to expect:

Planning Application Fee Guide

New Dwelling / Conversion to Dwelling Fee - £462.00
Commercial Projects/Extensions - Based on floor area created
Fees correct at time of publish
Building Control Charges
Each Local Authority is responsible for setting its own fees to fully recover its direct Building Control costs.
The fees are subject to extent of works involved, and vary from project to project. Although an estimated fee for building control services can be given.
Structural Engineers
Most projects will need the input of a qualified structural engineer. In these instances I will obtain 2 competitive quotes on your behalf based on working drawings prepared unless you have a preferred choice.
Plan Ahead
Local Authority planning approval can take up to 8 weeks. You will need Building Regulation approval once you have been granted planning permission. This generally takes a further 5 weeks from preparation to approval.
